Abstract

In mechanical electric motor systems used in commercial, residential and particularly industrial installations, the 3-phase induction motors (3-PIM) are commonly used, where the motors undergo several energy supply-generated disorders. Therefore, studies to analyze their efficiency and to manage the negative effects produced are necessary. The main objective of this paper was to demonstrate the 3-PIMs operationunder the unbalanced power distribution voltage. It was found that harmonic frequencies are generated in the circuit because of the inverter switching procedures. Due to the switching amount of time, taken by the switching controls the AC yield from the inverter is not sinusoidal, and is almost quasi-square forming the primary source of harmonic modulations.
