Abstract

Integration refers to the strategic integration of different policy instruments to achieve improved performance of the transport system. It can involve the combination of different measures under the dimension of 'tools', including infrastructure, management, regulation and pricing. The transit systems being developed across the country and around, have multidimensional impacts on economic, environmental and sociological aspects. The development of transit corridors can bring changes to the road user’s mode of choice and can affect the overall scenario. The organizational process through which elements of the passenger transport system (network and infrastructure, tariffs and ticketing, information and marketing) are brought into closer and more efficient interaction across modes, leading to a positive overall improvement in the overall state and quality of services linked to the individual travel components.
