Abstract

Agriculture is still the most substantial economic sector and plays a significant role in the overall socio-economic development of India. The study aims to identify problems of marketing of agricultural produce in Thoothukudi District.


The Objectives of the present study are:


  • To study data on the socio-economic structure of farmers in Thoothukudi District.

  • To know the size of operational holdings of the sample farmers.

  • To analyse the income earned through agricultural businessand several hours devoted to agricultural activities in the study area.

  • To identify the choices of marketing of agri-products and

  • To evaluate the marketing problems faced by the agricultural farmer.
