Abstract

This study attempts a comparative analysis of SAARC countries on “Ease of Doing Business” according to the rankings awarded by the Word Bank to understand and analyze the performance and position of individual as well within the SAARC group countries under various components of ease of Doing Business with an objective to present business environment of SAARC countries and potential scope for new businesses and start ups. It is observed during the study the emerging economies like India and Bhutan have initiated much needed reforms and eases their policy framework in the recent past to make the private entrepreneurs entry more open and free. This has resulted in more improvements and up gradation in their ranking under ease of Doing Business in the recent few year. India has also started many schemed to achieve start ups mission. The remaining countries of the SAARC need to follow the suit.
